It has been quite a journey since the official launch of Block Chain Monster Hunt, we believe it’s now time for the game to shed its old skin and evolve with new changes that promise to take the PvP experience to a whole new level of excitement and challenge.

The proposal includes new mechanics that enhance balance and tactical depth, making it more engaging and satisfying than ever before. With this effort, we aim to bring a fresh and engaging perspective to the game while also promoting fair play and allowing for greater flexibility in strategy.

All proposed modifications are preliminary and remain subject to further deliberation, as well as the feedback and input of the community. The details provided in the following banners are for illustrative purposes only.

Let's explore this in more detail through this article:

  • Monster Size Classification
  • Field Improvements
  • Unlocking Monster Skill

The new update will allow players to own more than 6 Monsters. With a diverse number of Monsters that can participate in PvP battles, the Monster Size system was born to balance the power between groups of monsters.

SESSION 1 — Size as a new monster’s attribute

1. MONSTER SIZE & TEAM SIZE

Monster size is determined by its rarity. The sum of the Sizes of the 3 Monsters that the player summons onto their field is referred to as the Team Size.

A higher Team Size, however, increases the risk of overloading the squad, leading to detrimental effects during gameplay. With this new classification, players can strategically choose from even non-rare Monsters and assemble the perfect lineup for victory.

2. FIELD SIZE

Field Size determines the maximum team size a player can use without suffering adverse effects. At the onset of each round, the system will employ a randomised selection process to determine a single Field, which will be applied to both players as they begin to pick up their Monster selections for battle. This field will bear the Field Size statistic, along with the potential for special effects that can impact all Monsters on the field.

3. OVERSIZE

The oversize mark emerges when the Team Size surpasses the Field Size in a given round, signalling a disadvantage for the player’s squad with corresponding damage to their Monsters.

To maintain a solid and stable position on the field, it is advisable for players to avoid Oversize and instead opt for a squad that aligns with the Field Size, ensuring a safer and more advantageous gameplay experience.

But for those who love adventure, there’s always the option to take the risk and let your squad be Oversized to crush your opponent with the pure power of your monsters. Just be prepared to face the consequences! High risk high return.

SESSION 2 — Unlocking Monster's Skills

The Skill System is a crucial part of monster battles, as it allows your monsters to unleash powerful abilities that can turn the tide of the game.

Skills are divided into two types: Non-Target and Target.

Non-Target skills have automatic effects that don’t require player intervention, while Target skills require the player to choose a target for the skill to be used on.

When a Target skill has enough mana to be used, the game will pause, and you’ll need to choose your target carefully. After the skill is used, your monster will start accumulating mana from scratch.

It’s important to note that the monster's Skill stats correspond to Special Attack stats, so make sure to choose monsters with complementary abilities to form a strong and balanced team.

THE CONCEPT OF MANA

MANA is the energy that monsters need to accumulate enough to activate Skill. MANA points can be gained through attacking and being attacked.

If multiple monsters have full mana storage, the monster with the higher speed will get to use its Skill first — so keep an eye on those stats too!

Gone are the days of one-sided battles dominated by rare Monsters. To succeed in the new arena, players must adapt quickly, familiarise themselves with the unique Monster skills, and master the art of assembling a well-balanced Team Size squad. Devote ample time to learning and tinkering with new tactics will lead you to victory.

We hope you’ll join us in exploring these new concepts, and please let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below!
